What is Youth Ministry? A place where all are welcome; All gifts are used, even gifts still in the rough; A place where we can make mistakes and laugh and learn, and rely on God’s grace. A place where we build each other up, and care about the details of each other’s lives. A place where the stories of our faith connect with our own life stories; A place where we learn to pray and praise. A place we come to serve others and in so doing Discover our ability to Lead.
What is Youth Group? Youth Group refers to all youth grades 6 through 12.
What Happens on a typical Sunday Morning? All youth gather together at 10:30 on Sundays for light breakfast food. Then at 10:45 the youth go to their respective lounges. Middle school youth meet in the middle school lounge and senior high youth meet in the senior high lounge. Jo O’Neill is the leader of the middle school group. Wendy leads the senior high group with the college students/youth leaders Steph, Vic, Hill & Clare. Our Sunday morning youth group time consists of checking-in with each other and a scripture based lesson.
Mission Work is at the Heart of Our Youth Ministry : Our hands on mission work will be spread out all year long…. new mission work and familiar recycled mission work. All mission projects are open to all youth. Senior high youth are encouraged to take leadership of mission projects. Leadership teams of youth will gather periodically to plan mission projects and special events. Everyone is welcome to participate in the leadership teams.
